Hey all,

In case you haven't seen it yet, Cartoonnetwork.com now has an animation test for Genndy Tartakovsky's new series "Samurai Jack" posted online.

http://www.cartoonnetwork.com/TOONAMI/

I was a little skeptical at first having seen the on-air promos, but this clip indicates a really great visual style (character designs very similar to Dexter's Lab, but almost cut-out style backgrounds), and seeing as how many references to and in-jokes about anime conventions are made in Dexter and the Powerpuff Girls, it should be interesting to see how the series works.

Here's how Cartoon Network describes the show:
"Samurai Jack tells the story of a great warrior displaced to the distant future by the evil shape-shifting wizard Aku. The world has become a bleak place under the rule of Aku, segregated into fantastic tribes and ruled by Aku's evil robot warlords. Samurai Jack travels this foreign landscape in search of a time portal that can return him to his home. In addition to exotic cities and strange cultures, Samurai Jack will also encounter modern urban landscapes and all their trappings, such as flying cars, huge skyscrapers and even techno music. Through it all, Jack relies upon his strength and mental acuity to help him tackle each episode's challenges.

"A man of few words, Samurai Jack speaks mostly with his expressive eyes. The centerpiece of Samurai Jack will be its stylized action scenes, but the show will also contain elements of humor as the protagonist adapts to the travails of modern life, such as finding a suitable replacement for his worn-out Samurai sandals.

"Stylistically, this won't be like any other animated show on television," said Tartakovsky. "We're using music, cinematic storytelling, and very stylized backgrounds to create mood and atmosphere as Samurai Jack travels an exotic landscape. The environment will be a major character in each show."

In my opinion Dexters Lab is the shizznit, its my fav tv show it even out ranks some Anime in my opinion.
Esp with all the references, i mean Genndy could sit there and make spoofs/remakes of old anime and id still watch it faithfully.

They are crazy if they canceled dexter its an awesome show. Good characters, good story. The Justice League is the **** too lol
Everytime i think of it I think of Tikiman giving that monster a honololou hotfoot lol. And Capital G lol, man i love that show!!!!!!!

Power Puff Girls are good too, Mojo jojo keeps me in the floor laughing all the time.

Courage, most of his eps suck with repeating plot lines but the best 2 i suggest you look out for are. The ones where the large robot takes over Courage and his family and him and courage have a breakdancing contest. And the one where Muriels nephew comes in and he rhymes alot and says the word "Naughty" like 100 times. I like the one with the Goose God also who ends up marrying Usetes's truck.

Ed Edd and Eddy is stupid as hell..... i usually turn the channel when it comes on.

i really like dexter's lab, but i haven't seen any new ones. they all seem to be reruns. it's a pretty old series, isn't it?

angry beavers is another favorite of mine. i know it's not a cartoon cartoon, but it's still funny.

Powerpuff Girls, Dexters lab, Justice League and Johnny Bravo and the damn Shizznitt!! They are the greatest shows in creation!!!

I got cable television just to watch the Cartoon Network..

heheh I am so lame.
But then again, gotta give all the girlfriends something to watch in the morning.. hahahahha *cough* wish *cough*

Yeah thats my fave episode too, Bubbles was like in a bunny girl suit and she pogo sticked her way to fight crime.. wuahuhauhaha...

Animating cartoons is no fun at all tho. Its only fun if you are the creator and dont have to do any work. Cause u hold all the power, design all the concepts, and watch the animation slaves and students put together ur masterpiece.. hehehheheh
