Yeah, I am still around and yes I know that no one asked. :)

I have an idea I might do for my next personal project that I think KM users might like...

Stay tuned! When and if I get the time to do it I will let you know.

I can hardly wait!

The project is almost done, just waiting for the shareware settings to be verified and trying to decide where to put the files... had trouble with a name, all of the really good "FlashSOMETHING" ideas I had were taken, but I think I found something that fits it.

Anyhow, it is a FULLY FUNCTIONAL FREEWARE app (for non-commercial use), with a VERY LOW registration fee for commercial use and it will work great with KM created content!

Well, what is it you ask? Wait and see! :) Once I get it uploaded I will let everyone know. I also want to make sure I have taken care of any stray bugs that may have slipped past me (ONE bug took about 6 hours to fix...) and that all of the typos are gone from the help files.

I saw you post in the standalone section. It sounds interesting. Can you at least give us a hint at what it is.

Hmmm... I started to drop a hint, but couldn't quite get the wording right. :) It won't be long until it is released... as soon as I get the shareware response I will throw together a web site somewhere and upload it... maybe Monday, Tuesday at the latest I guess.

johnie... you wanna give part of this thing a try? I have one part uploaded.. I am still waiting on one last thing before uploading the other part... I need someone to try it out that has a system that is slower than my fastest (1.1 GHz processor, 384 MB Ram, 32 MB video RAM) and faster than my slowest system (Pentium 133, 48 MB RAM 2MB video RAM).

Sure,

If you E-mail through the E-Mail Button it will go into my home account. I won't be home for some hours.

I have accesss to a PIII 128 MB ram, a PII 128 MB Ram, and a AMD K-6 2 with 3D-Now that is slightly overclocked with 64 MB Ram- at least until I upgrade it (Athlon and Duron mother boards chips are dirt cheap right now :D ).

I'll E-mail you.

Ooops! you don't have e-mail configured from flash kit. You'll have to E-mail me.

DigitalD0g

Doing that now.

Subject: Hey Again

Oops... I forgot to upload the updated version before I emailed you, I just uploaded it.

I'm downloading and installing on the K-6 now. It will be about 5 minutes till the Download is complete.

I kinda figured this was what you were working on- Either this or a Jugglor like product.

Well it is a screen saver tool that I wanted, but did not want to pay an arm and a leg for a good one, so I decided to make one everyone could use for free.

My email seems to be working again... for now.

I e-mailed you. The installer didn't work right.

I'm running Win 98SE on that k-6 2.

Yeah, it worked right. The engine does not have an exe file for making the screen savers, it only runs them. The one that makes it is a seperate utility. Go to your control panel-display-screen saver setting panel and look for FlashField Screen Saver.

EXCELLENT! OK... THANKS! Did you get a chance to look at all of the features? Once I get the Deployment Kit released I will let you know. That shouldn't be too long now.

Yes, it looks nice.

Thanks! Wait until you see how simple it is to turn your swf files into screen savers!

johnie

I imagine that it will be real easy-as most screensaver tools are. Can't wait till your done with it.

Just remember to lock or kill this thread when your done testing.

If anyone is interested in getting a copy of my new screen saver engine and deployment kit here is the URL:

http://www.bhwhost.com/tcb_software/flashfield/

This is a 2 part program that works with KM created content. The larger download (just over 2 MB) is to run the screen savers and the smaller one to create the screen saver packages.

This is my last post to this thread, but since I had stirred something up about this project I thought I would pass on the URL to you guys.
