Has anyone done anything with voice synchronization such as matching the movement of a mouth to a wav file?
I would really like any samples or advice in this area.

My first KoolMove "movie" was a poor attempt at voice sync. and it is located here:

I also found a Lip-Sync tutorial here:

But could not open pages referenced there - even though I joined!

This is the link to the tut:

Brad and Matt seemed to have abandoned the KoolMover site. I stopped contributing to it around December of last year and may contribute again. As for myself I am working on a complete E-Book on the KoolMoves software in my spare time. I just started it this year however I have over 100 pages of material from both this forum and from the articles and tuts I wrote over at Koolmovers. Since I haven't heard from Matt since last August I am very uncertain about Matts future plans for KoolMovers.
Voice synching is hard in the SWF format especially since the Flash player does not synch sounds well. If it is told to synch it will through out frames so that the sound keeps to it and if not told to synch it tends to play the animation at a slightly speed than the sound.
If you check the A&A (Art and Anime) board at Flashkit they have some good tutorials on synching voice, you have to dig pretty deep though as with most things on the site a lot of the qaulity is gone. This link will help some http://board.flashkit.com/board/showthread.php?threadid=88530 My best advice is not to try to synch perfectly and to hide the mouth as much as possible.

Thanks johnie,
Many of the links are broken but that looks like a great place (Art and Anime) to lurk.
A 100 page E Book for KoolMoves sounds great!

I'm shooting for about 200 pages. If I go into detail on scripting I may have problems keeping it at 200 pages.
Anyhow the A & A board used to be very good but a lot of the more advanced users moved on to other sites when FK started clogging up.
I could probably post this http://www.archive.org/index.html it will show you the text and basic images from web pages that hve gone away. The anime.sproket site was one of the better sites, unfortunatly his animation examples and demos can not be retrived with the wayback machine.
Be carefull if you view the sproket site- My virus checker says that his sept 29'th 2001 version had a virus on it so don't click on that version on the Wayback machine.
