I am trying to morph text and am getting very odd results... it morphs, but it changes the target to partial text... it does nto fully morph.
I am trying to morph YOU into CAN.
Can someone try this and let me know if they get odd results as well? I want to rule out my end before saying its a bug or morphing points limitation.
thanks.

When you morph you have to have 2 shapes that correlate.
Those letters when converted to shapes with points don't Match all that good- Well the A and O do not.
Anyhow this is how to do this.
1. Type YOU. Go to transform and break the text into letters. While it is still selected you will then convert it into shapes with points.
2. Create a New Frame. Preferably a Blank frame CTRL-B... However if you have more than jsut those words in the frame just append the a copy to end.
3. Delete the shapes YOU from the frame if you didn't add a Blank frame.
4. Type in roughly the same spot as the YOU- Turn Onion Skinning on to place it right.
5. Now convert the CAN into letters and then into shapes with points.
6. Select the Morph source for each.
7. The A and O won't Match well- you will have to adjust the points or not morph it or do something else with it.
Anyhow that is how you shape morph letters into one another- Its kind of freaky when it works.

wow... morphing an O into an A is giving me a migrane!
I got the Y into a C easily... but the O to A is not working at all!!!!!
What I want is a smooth transition from YOU into CAN...
does anyone have any ideas of a different approach other than morphing? I'd like to stay away form the traditional fade in/outs.

I have been learning koolmoves through the use of this forum and today I learned how to finally morph. I got the given morphing example "you can" to work. I set the movie speed to 6. I do not know how to slow it down any more so I added some copied frames and even changed the color of "you" to green and left the "can" black.

I got it...
took forever to get it looking as close to nice as possible...and TONS of point manipulations.
however... any other ideas for transitioning would be appreciated.

I warned you that the A to O was a BEAR and would require Poinmt Manipulation...
Use a Series of Fades to make it look like it is morphing...
Best Idea I can Come up with.
I Might whipp something like this up latter tonight.
Another Idea I have is to not assing the A a morph source. Go into the Play Single Step mode and stop half way through the transition. Now Convert this Halfway frame to a Key. You will also convert the next frame into Key also.
Now Goto the 2 Frame that you converted to a Key and Delete out the O shape and Replace it with the A shape.
Now Go Back a Frame and Manipulate the O so that it is curling into itself or something.
Go Over to the next Frame and do the Same for the A.
That should make it easier.

I'm still kind of new to KoolMoves, but try this?? If you want to morph (YOU) into (CAN), try using lower case letters: (can) instead of (CAN), it seems to me that an "O" may morph more easily into a lower case "a". Just a suggestion. Not sure if it will work or if you would want to do this...
