flash export problem

I am trying to export a flashMX file to quicktime and it comes up with an error message that reads:
THE INSTALLED VERSION OF QUICKTIME DOES NOT HAVE A HANDLER FOR THIS TYPE OF MACROMEDIA FLASH MOVIE.
PLEASE CONSULT THE DOCUMENTATION FOR FURTHER INFO.


I have been looking around and can not find any thing, I have quicktime ver6 installed. Does anyone have a clue as to what this error is telling me.

are you exporting as Flash5?

to elaborate, you need to export as the version flash prior to that version of QT that you are using.
That is QT 5 can read Flash 4, QT 6 can read Flash5.
So it is likely that you are exporting as Flash 6, which the QT can read. Change this setting in your Publish settings for Flash movie and you should be ok, assuming that you arent trying to use Flash6 only stuff in your movie.
