Is 3DFA a flash program?

I was talkin with someone about 3DFA, and he said the following...

"No, that isn't Flash. It plays on a Flash Player, but it is 3DFA. Flash applications are built with the Flash authoring system."

...is this true? If 3DFA isn't Flash, then what is it?

Of course 3D Flash Animator is a flash program.

3DFA produces Flash (SWF) files the same way Flash does, otherwise they wouldn't work in Flash player.
