You don't have a stand-alone player. Press play in web browser instead.

I have a similar problem. When I want to preview a file in the flashplayer , it starts up normal, but shows just a blank. Happens only in Windows XP Pro.

Do in this way:
1) Browse your HDD and search for a SWF file.
2) Left & right mouse click
3) select "Open with" and "Choose program"
4) search for SAFlashPlayer or Macromedia Flash Player
5) validate "allways use this program ..." and click OK.
that's all

If you don't have a Flash 6 Player, download this one:

Yes I know, but (not always) in some cases the flash player wants to access the internet, even if the file is in no way connected to some external point. The firewall asks for permission for flashplayer to access the internet and with or without granted permission the flashplayer shows a blank. This only happens in XP pro ,never in ME, but not always. I really can't figure out why. When I export the file as SWF and I run it, it's opened by the flashplayer as always.

I run XP Pro and I don't have any of these problems.

Also, don't confuse the flash player that browsers access with the stand-alone player that also creates projector files.
