I am trying to add music to an swf movie but I can't find out how to do it (I'm using KoolMoves).

What I want to do is this: Add "music.mp3" to "movie.swf" and I want the .mp3 file to start in the first .swf frame and end with the last.

I just downloaded/bought my KoolMoves yesterday so you might have to explaine it in a simple way - so to speak

Use File > Insert Flash Movie as an Object to add your .swf file. In Views > Actions and Sounds, press the + button to add your sound to the first frame. On the navigaton bar, press the + button to add frames to the movie. You can judge if you have enough frames to play the sound in Views > Actions and Sounds.

I've done exactly as you told me - but i still can't hear any music.
All I see now is a blank page instead of the pictures I was suppoased to see?

I assume that you are testing the animation in Play > Play in Web Browser. I also assume that you are playing the animation from the same directory that the .swf file is in?

In Movie > SWF dependencies, you should see your mp3 file and movie.swf file.

I suggest that you export as a swf and html file into the same directory as movie.swf. Then double-click on the html file.

I have done that - and I've tried to upload all files to my homepage and played it from there but it still don't work.

Can you please tell me what this means in the window: "Frame Actions and Sound".

After the trash symbol (under the file name and directory:
"2.4 s, 22.1 kHz"
if this is the size and length of the music something is'nt right - because the musicfile I'm trying to use is Bach's Air and that is more than 4M big

Sorry for the inconvenience this may cause you.

You need to take baby steps not huge steps in getting this to work so we can see where the problem is. Get it to work on your local disk before uploading.

First get the imported swf to work without sound.

Confirm it works by playing in web browser.

Second add mp3 sound to the first frame (Views > Actions and Sounds, + button). Use a mp3 sound other than the 4 MB sound to get it to work.

Confirm it works by playing in web browser.

Report back after this.

OK - I missunderstood your previous help, so when I made the movie.swf and created a new .swf as well as a HTML page and put it in the same folder the movie playes without sound.

So now I'll try to add the music file to the movie (once again) - I wonder if I am doing something wrong when I'm trying to convert the wmp file to become an mp3 file. I am using the Windows Media Player that is "implanted" in the WXP-pro. Do I maybe have to download some other softwear to be able to use/make .mp3 files(?) As you (all) might understand by now I don't usually use my PC for music :)

No - still don't play music.
I just wonder if anybody can give me a link to a place where I can download a SMALL .mp3 file so that I can check if it is something wrong with the file(s) I have converted to .mp3 files.

Thanks

Go here (http://80.32.226.207/download.htm) and grab the GWave file. It's a shareware version so no piracy problems involved and it works very well. Cheers

Sure this is the correct URL(?) - "page cannot be found" - or maybe it's just temp. down.

Do you btw. know if it is possible to edit the sound file with this progr. - e.g. use/record a part of a melody?

The prog will work on almost all music formats and does most jobs, effects, general editing etc. Try it again now. Here (http://80.32.226.207/DOWNLOAD.htm) Sorry, I usually have that page blocked and I forgot to open it.

Strange. seems to be working from here... well if you can't get in then go to this add and download from there. http://www.goldwave.com/release426.html , you will have to download a prog called Lamewin as well,, it has the mp3 codecs, you won't be able to record without it.
