I just upgraded. Good work, Bob.
However, while making sure I had all my files,
I accidently deleted most of my projects from
the last few months.
Anyone know of a cheap or free file recovery program?
[Emphasis on cheap or free.]

OUCH!
Dood, that hurts. You don't have any backups or burns?

It's just my luck...
I did not have a burned copy of the files because I was still working on them. "lah dee dah"
So, I found a demo of active @ undelete...
[I highly recommend keeping away from this software.]
The demo version found the files but did NOT undelete them.
"This demo version does not allow undelete. Please buy the full version."
Then, knowing that my files were still there, I found
PC Inspector File Recovery, free [Yes, it is free.]
Here's where things went sour...
I uninstalled the "undelete piece of junk" [That's being kind]...
Finally, I searched for my files with PC Inspector.
I could not find them...
Where did they go?
I over-wrote them when I uninstalled that active piece of junk.
Well, I can redo most of the work in no time.
Most of the projects were clip art and KoolMoves examples,
that I was going to release later on.
Yeah, I learned my lesson, backup and backup the files.
I just feel like an idiot. L337 ???

I agree with JDski, Outstanding work, Bob [and the rest].
Odd but true. Dude is/was a term used by carnival workers,
specificaly the person that shaved cattle [elephants].
Elephants are actually shaved with a blow torch due to the thick wirery hairs...
[Don't worry, the elephant can not feel the flame.]
In referencing the different areas shaved on an elephant,
the hairs on the hind quarter are called dudes.
Being just like cattle, an elephant will kick anything that approaches the hind quarters.
As a reminder, some would exclaim "Watch it dude!" to the shaver.
I guess that a passerby overheard the term and liked the quip.
Thus making dude a popular term, for friend or aquaintance, in the 80's and beyond.
[If anyone is interested, I know how the S and F words came into being, also. I can keep it tame.]

You can also try this Doc, it's called "file scavenger" (It's Shareware but it's a working version).
I don't recommend that you use your machine for anything apart from surfing until you have run one or other of the recovery programs because you are likely to overwrite the data you have lost. " When you dump something from your files it doesn't get deleted,, all that happens is that a flag gets placed on the selected sectors saying that they are available to be overwritten. The other thing I recommend is that you run any recovery program from a different disk to the one you wish to recover as you are likely to delete the very files you want to save,"permanently",, Good luck.

Thanks for the replies...
But, as I said earlier I over-wrote the files when I uninstalled the non-working data recovery program.
I'll be back up in a week or two. Heck, I allready redrew a few of my favorite projects.
Only a couple projects affected my work and they were printed out allready.
Thanks

Hello,
I am switching from 3DFA to Koolmoves. I need more programming power. I checked out Formula Graphics but did not like some things about it most of all the complaints on their fourm. Flashpulse has talked a lot about Koolmoves on all the fourms so I looked at it and like what I see.
Unfortunatly I purchased it through regsoft and ********afile.com seems not to be working. I can not get the download. I have the reg code and no file. How fast is koolmoves in working these things out???

I emailed the Getafile people. They are serious about their hosting so I am sure they are working on the problem.

Not receiving emails is usually due to spam filter blocking the emails. Email me again and tell me to send from another email address.
