I was poking around another forum and saw this post
There are issuse with SP2 and local HTML files. They must have "Mark of the Web" or some such nonsense if they use plugins so if your flash app doesn't add the needed information to the html page SP2 will not allow it to run locally
If this is true, it impacts Koolmoves. What is this "mark of the web"?

I'm pretty sure it's no more than an extra line of text in the html.
<!-- saved from url=(0013)about:internet -->
This should be placed between the <head></head> tags.
Something like that..
Ref URL's
http://menumachine.com/docs/instruction_pages/troubleshooting/mark_of_the_web.html
and from MS site
at http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechnol/winxppro/maintain/sp2brows.mspx
You can allow Active X and scripts to always run in Web pages that are launched from a CD by clicking “Yes” when presented with the following message:
Active content can harm your computer or disclose personal information. Are you sure that you want to allow CDs to run active content on your computer?
If your Web page needs to run ActiveX or scripting, you can add a Mark of the Web comment in the HTML code. This Internet Explorer feature allows the HTML files to be forced into a zone other than the Local Machine zone so that they can then run the script or ActiveX code based on the security template that would be applied to the URL identified in the comment. For example if the URL specified was www.contoso.com and that URL was present in your trusted sites list, the page would use the security template for the trusted sites zone. This setting works in Internet Explorer 4 and later. To insert a Mark of the Web comment into your HTML file, add one of the following comments:
<!-- saved from url=(0022)http://www.yoururl.com -->
Use this comment when you are inserting a Mark of the Web into a page whose domain is identified, replacing http://www.yoururl.com with the URL of the Internet or intranet domain that the page is hosted by. Include the length of the URL in parenthesis used for the Mark of the Web before the URL, for example (0022).
If you want your Web page to always be treated as though it were part of the Internet zone, you can use the following Mark of the Web:
<!-- saved from url=(0013)about:internet -->
Use this comment when you need to generically insert a Mark of the Web. The about:internet portion will place the page in the Internet zone.
As part of the changes to Internet Explorer in Windows XP SP2, this HTML comment can also be used with .mht files, known as multipart HTML or .xml files. Mark of the Web will not be respected for .mht or .xml files in earlier versions of Internet Explorer.

"Mark the Web" is a security switch that controls, disactivates, or triggers a security warning for "active content" from downloaded web pages. This will NOT affect pages being viewed from a live server but will impede or issue a pop-up security warning for any active content such as "flash" on a downloaded page.
If you have or work with pages that are regularly downloaded from your website then there is a work around which you will have to insert manually into your generated "html" page.
This should be placed between the <head></head> tags.
<!-- saved from url=(0013)about:internet -->
This comment tag is called the "Mark of the Web". It will identify the page as having been saved from an online web site.
Any page which contains the Mark of the Web will not trigger the security warning in IE6.
Actually I think Bob could probably slip that piece of code into the html generator so it appears automatically. (One for the next version Bob, As it seems as though it is here to stay)

Does anyone using Play > Play in Web Browser with XP SP2 get a security warning message?
I can easily insert that comment line in the generated html code. It seems like a stupid exercise. I don't see how this is any kind of great security measure.

Yes, I get this. I test with IE. I also get it with coffeecup when I want to test in the browser. I have sp2 using most of the defaults.

Here's a whole list of free pop-up blockers.

I don't know the specs of your pc but SP2 on mine slowed it down too much. I had to remove it. As for software, SP2 has issues with alot of programs. If you want a free anti-virus program since yours doen't work, here's another list.

Best pop up blocker I've ever used is incorporated in the new Google Bar,, It really is excellent with a quick over ride button and the search stuff is quite handy as well.
As for that "Mark the Web thing. it's just another security measure which puts the onus on us to deal with our own security instead of them doing a decent job of it in the first place, I mean as though we need more damned pop ups ???. All that will happen now is that the script kiddies will place that code on their malicious little pages and we won't get the warning anyway. Seems like a total waste of time to me.

I haven't installed SP2 and mainly use FIREFOX which is a great browers and Pop up blocking is standard part of the program so it's integrated well. Best feature for web developers is the web developer extension, you can swap or disable CSS, fill in dummy data for forms, view POST or GET data, Outline images or tables, test CSS and HTML validation and much more.
Only use IE when hit site that requires IE because the builder uses IE "hooks"

My antivirus works, just the the prompter for sp2 says, Alert: no virus running. And sp2 did not slow down my pc. But I downloaded the large version. Not the auto load from windows update. Don't know if that makes any difference. It was suppused to replace all the previous updates into one xxx.exe file. I have been lucky with this stuff so far. My pc is 2.53Ghz with 512mg ram.

Blanius,, Have you had any problems with Firefox when it comes to media files?. I've been using Mozilla for a fair while with no problems but the new 1.7 beta is terrible, can't even listen to a midi file on a web page without it stuttering. I know they are based on the same Netscape engine so I was just wondering if you'd had any similar hassles.

no problems with media here. Occasionally weirdness with downloads of mp3 media being renamed on download is all

I will create a patch for 4.5.2 with the extra comment line and maybe tmoore935 can see if it prevents the warning popup.

I have created the patch. If any of you registered users are getting an IE security warning message in KoolMoves, please let me send you the patch.
