Koolmoves and Mac

I already bought a Koolmove for my pc. I was wondering if I can use the Koolmove on my Mac or do I have to buy another copy of Koolmoves.

"Microsoft VirtualPC" ver 6.1 or 7 is the only proven solution that comes to mind. It is a windows emulator which works in most cases but the drawback is that the 6.1 version only emulates at Pentium II speeds. I don't know if version 7 has overcome that problem. Three things to note are: (1) you'll need loads of Ram (512Mb recommended), (2) If you are using OS/X then it may not run on version 7,and (3) It is very expensive "$130USD" upwards. The other program to look at is "Darwine" but from all reports so far it is a bit hit and miss. It's worth a try though cos it's free, or it used to be. More info here http://darwine.opendarwin.org/

I have used WINE (from which PowerPC Darwine spawned) on my Fedora Core box to run Windows apps fairly successfully.

Does anyone other than me have a Mac and would be wiling to test Darwine/Mac WINE running KoolMoves?

It will take me a few days but I will get there and test it. I had some issues with my Wintel box recently and have been gravitating back to using my Mac for most everything. Be such a boon to run KoolMoves on it.

I dont think this would this work on a PowerPC based MAC though? You would need an x86 one.

SteveThe sole original purpose of "Darwine" was to run Windows x86 based software on PowerPC.

Because Wine was developed on Linux, it lends itself to being ported to the new Mactels, so "Darwine" will support running Windows apps on both types of Macs.

You should read about it (http://darwine.opendarwin.org/), it is an interesting project.

I have, it is. and I apologise for my mistake - I didnt realise it had a cpu emulator built in - I didnt look past the wine part.
