You all just keep getting better and better. Another very impressive week.

Let's go with something a little bit different this week, let's use GLASS as our theme this week.

Glass is everywhere, people wear them, they are on cars, in buildings, used for partitions.....everywhere. Let's see how creative we can get with this

Use this week's theme creatively and let's see those photos!!

As always, the Ru|3z:

This is NOT a PhotoShop battle it is a photography battle. Only slightly touched up photos may be submitted.
Let's keep the file and image size under FK guidelines (under 750 px wide).
All photographs must be related to the current weekly theme.
Photographs must be taken by the idividual posting (no stealing photos).
Use any camera (ie. cellphone, point-and-shoot, disposable) just submit!
Multiple submission are welcomed.
Photos must be no more than a week old. Take some NEW pictures people!

Have fun, get creative, post as often as you like.

Nice Robb, what do you think about a little more contrast in those two photos? Personally, I'd like to see that.

My submissions so far:

Ok, I have been chastised for not giving decent citiques so here goes!

Rob, the first photo you have there of the ash tray is nice, I like it. The fact that you made it b&w was great as it lends itself to the ashes that way. I don't know what it was in the background but it was distracting for me. I liked the reflection of the ashtray on the table, that was nice.

The second photo I did not care fro at all. I could not tell what it was and without any contrasting colours it was nothing more than an abstract photo to me. :-) But whatever it was, it seem to have some serious light bouncing around it.

EVP, Sweetie, You are always good but this time you must have been a bit tired. I have seen better from you. The first one, the ball with the glass tiles would have been GREAT if you had not had so much sun. The background is distracting and so much of the hanger should not have been included since it is out of focus. See the bottom of the ball where the tiles are reflecting a pretty bright blue? That is what I would have like to have seen more of.

Ok on to the angel. You should have cleaned the cobwebs off of her first. There were not enough of them to make it interesting and too much of them to ignore! LOL But in this case I liked the background colours, they were a good contrast against the angel.

And last but not least, your figerprint ladden bottle...... hmmm.. Well, I felt like it was too up close and personal. I would have liked to see more of it. But on the whole it was a good shot of glass!

Nice job guys!

I am still waiting on that Challenge EV!

i actually thought E!'s third photo was the best standalone image of the three. the short DOF really brings out those crazy psychedelic patterns in the glass. good colors, good sharpness, and good background. the first two, however, remind me of the stuff that i normaly post...sort of in the 'snapshots from around the house' category. the backgrounds don't add to the subject, and the subjects themselves do not leave much to the imagination...their stories are shallow. "i am ornament...see me hanging".

Ok, I have been chastised for not giving decent citiques so here goes!chastised? well, maybe, but you had just said the same thing to all of US!

:) :) :)

and robb, your shots are good. the only thing i have to add is to always check out your contrast. there isn't much white in either of those shots, and that sort of takes away the edge that B&W can bring.

i am out of town all next week, so i hope to get some shots in tonight.
night photography and glass...this isn't going to be good!

Ha ha, do you have any idea how many spiders are up here? Cobwebs are EVERYWHERE, but yeah.....I shoulda cleaned them off.

Just not feeling inspired lately, in kind of a rut I guess.

He must be American!

Skate, that stained glass window is beautful. I even like the fact that there is a bit of a shadow taking part of the view at the top and the banister of the stairs at the bottom. It there has been a bit more sunlight showing through it would have been perfect. :-)

Don't worry EV, You will get your groove back! LOL I have faith in you! HEY! Now is a good time to do the challenge with me!! I might have a chance!!! LOL!

Ok, here are a couple of fotos of some pretty glass.

alright here is the story behind this one:

I decided if I got a bunch of old light bulbs, and threw them into the stream behind my house I would get some amazing photos of them all flowing down near each other. I scoured the house grabbing every burnt out light bulb I could find, and then just took some that still worked. Walked to the stream, and threw them all in. I did not account for the random plants and crap retarding (yes, it works there) the travel of the bulbs, so basically they all got stuck in random places. I just took a couple shots of them and this turned out the best, in my opinion anyway. I then tryed to clean up the 20+ bulbs I had thrown in, it did not go well. I ended up walking through water for like 10 minutes trying to get them all, and I only ended up with 11, so I have no idea where the rest ended up.
