Is there midi support in flash 8? I have been waiting for this every long. I just dont understand y is it so difficult to add support for midi. :)
External API only support communication between javascript and flash? With this external Api that allow synchronous communication, does that mean in the future, more and more 3rd party flash projector (such as zinc and swf studio) will be synchronous? Since these developers can start making use of synchronous communication.

Is there midi support in flash 8 ?
I didn't hear anything about that, unfortunately...
Macromedia seems to ignore the VJing market ! :-(
The only means -- today -- is to use Flosc which require serious skills : need to run SuperCollider + parsing XML ! Allright ! :-)
Don't know why there is such a lack in Flash 'cause Director has this feature -- third party, though -- since a long time !
Let's go for an official petition ! :-)

SWF Studio V3.1 (http://www.northcode.com) is now available for download and the official announcement will be out on Monday.
We are the first swf2exe tool to incorporate support for the Flash 8 player. We even have an option that allows you to upgrade your SWF to SWF8 format so you can use the new Flash 8 player features without using Flash 8!
Thanks to the ExternalInterface in Flash 8 we also support synchronous commands in V3, and none of the code you wrote for 3.0 will break in 3.1 because our ActionScript API was designed to insulate you from just these kinds of changes.
We tested a MIDI plugin for V2 that let people retrieve data from MIDI devices and it worked beautifully. We'll be releasing the V3 version of the MIDI plugin soon to put all the input you ever wanted right at your fingertips :)
