Hi,

Does 3D flash animator have mobile phone compatibality or if it hasn't - does it have compatability with the flash SDK and the flash lite mobile profile

(Its actually a stupid question since the profile is strictly Macromedia property).

IF all the abouve is not feasible then can you suggest any other flash programs that do have features that enable me to develop for embedded devices.

I thought that Flash MX 2004 could develop for mobile devices but it turns out that I need the professional verson which I can't afford.

Anyway
Thanks for any help.

Hi,

Many mobile phones now come with the ability to play Flash animations. There is another forum within Flashkit that specialises in this area: http://board.flashkit.com/board/forumdisplay.php?f=62 .

I did a little work on this a while ago, but didn't get far in. I believe, that if you can have 3dfa create a swf file, then some of the postings on that other thread will help you port it to a mobile device.

Personally, I have used 3DFA to create a swf, and software that if I remember right is called ANTZ Flash Player to use my animations on a Pocket PC (Phone Edition). Similar software is available for some phone devices, but not all.

I think you can use the free SDK from Macromedia, with the swf generated from 3DFA to do something a bit more robust for a mobile phone, but I found that a bit confusing so stopped after installing the SDK.

Hope that helps.

Morgan.
