Flashing Background?

I am designing a flash e-flyer for a nightclub, I have got the main details done in Kool Moves, but want to add a flashing background, the background is currently set to black.

I want to be able to make the back flash white to give a strobe effect. I have tried drawing a simple shape and adding 'Light Projection, but it makes the swf jump.

Any ideas?

just make a movie clip with white lights poping out...
it'll loop and you wouldn't have to do a thing afterwards.
