I am unable to publish to a network in Flash 8. I get a 'Destination directory does not exist' error whenever I try and publish. I have been through all of the settings and options and nothing has worked.

I am able to publish locally.

Anyone else have this problem?

Thanks.

I get this problem from time to time in MX 2004. What makes it even more frustrating is that if I open/create another file, it publishes fine. Are you using a Mac OSX onto a PC server?

No, everything is PC. Did you figure out any type of solution or what is going on? I basically cannot use Flash 8 because of this.

Thx.

My quick fix for this is to publish locally, then whenever I felt necassary (eg end of the day), transfer onto the server. I have a suspicion that it may have something to do with the amount of characters in the directory path, or file name, but I'm probably talking rubbish there.

Good luck

If you're on a Windows network, I found that either of these solutions worked:

1. Relative paths ie: ../../your.swf

or

2. Mapping the directory that you're publishing to/from. Open a directory Explorer window (window+e) and go to Tools > Map Network Drive. Then go back to your publish settings and choose the new, mappped path to your file.
