I hate using ScrollPanes but I'm forced to use one today.
I never had any trouble using them in Flash MX, but, scrollpanes just come out as blank in Flash 8. BTW I haven't used them in MX 2004, because I hardly bothered with that build.
I have:
set linkage to export the target MC for actionscript sharing (in the first frame)
given the target MC an instance name, obviously
set the scrollpane content path parameter to the target MC instance name
I expect it's a one-sentence answer, but I can't find it in Help, FAQs, Google and I have a deadline.
Thanks,
Rob

I assume you mean you gave the content clip an identifier in the Linkage dialogue and set the contentPath to that identifier...if so that should be right, works for me over here.
If you had better luck with the old components you can get them from the Macromedia Exchange on Macromedia.com.

Keep in mind that it loads into the scrollPane from it's 0,0 point so if the contents of the clip are to the left or above that it'll appear that the scrollPane is empty.

Thanks for replying. In fact the pane was working but some of my 'elegant' Actionscript had made the movie go play the wrong frame of the MC which contained it.
I thought about just pasting the old MX scrollpane in from an old FLA, which would work, but I felt that would be giving in. Vorwarts, immer, ruckwarts, nimmer.

Hold on now, don't close this thread.
I'm having some serious bugs involoving v2 Scrollpanes, exported as v7 SWFs, being displayed broken/cut-off/just-plain-wrong using ALL BROWSERS I have installed Flash Player 8 on!!!!
The content is pulled in (from the library, as described above), but is initially displayed, or rather NOT displayed, other than bits and pieces of the MC.
Once you scroll, however, the MC is "refreshed" and dis[played correctly from that point on.
If I refresh, I'm back to the broken MC.
HELP!
