Best bet is to view the swf in the "Flash Projector" / standalone player...
Then use a screen capture to record the swf...

I've used this before - "Zealot SWF2Video Studio" - with good results, but it doesn't carry over sound. Granted I used this over a year ago. They may have a newer version. I tried another program but don't remember what it was. You should be able to do a search for these types of converters.

KoolMoves will perform a screen capture from the player for you -- File > Export Movie > Capture Movie Frames but that won't give you sound.

Could you not record the SWF using bobs technique and then record the sound to a seperate soundtrack and then splice the 2 together when converting. Obviously this will only work as long as the swf and sound have to be the same everytime. :mrt:

What I was having to do when I did this was create an intro for a Training DVD. The DVD software let me take my converted Flash and add sound to that part of the DVD. It worked great! Never looked into being able to rip it back out as a "whole". Hope this gives an idea!

I know Nero 7 Ultra allows you to add sound tracks to video files. whether it would work in this case i wouldn't know i'm afraid but if someone has it they could try and let us know

Have to agree with DocRee ...
Try using freeware CamStudio 2
It can record the sound also!
Nevermind converting to swf, just save as avi.
Then you can convert to other codecs fairly easily.

Don't know if this is the same thing, but interestingly...
