Especially if you have a forum like this one....

I was asked to create a form for a building company and this is the result. Calculations have not been added to second 2 floors yet.
Real time calcs avoid having the " Calculate " and wait button...

Many thanks to Blanius, you may not know it but some of your posts really helped out on this one....

I did make some calculators and found the most benifit was that you put in your own equations. And these are great as converters for metric to english measurements. if you download a calc, you never know how it was done.

Also yours look really nice with the components. :)

Thanks tmoore, agree with your comments regarding calcs. Its also alot faster than pumping out the info to php/asp as the info is built into the flash...

Updated Flash so it calculates in real time, no calculate button.....

Thanks for the source code. I can use a few of those calculations.

How are you going to use them chris ? They are pretty specific to the company involved.

No specific reason. Handy to have if a contractor...which I am. I'll just smoke what is useless to me adapt what is by editing the scripting.

What you have could be a "Black Box". If you let the user enter the equations, say into a Dynamic text box, then it would work for anyone. I wonder if flash can be used for a palm pilot. That way you could sell to contractors and I am sure there are standard equations that all contractors use. Just wondering. :cap:

No flash on Palm but Windows CE I believe does.

Ok, but you see my point. Every contractor does it his way and anyshort cut would help. There must be a way to make money here. Can someone submit to win CE, like the way you can for games on cell phones?

and then there is Flash Lite (http://www.adobe.com/products/flashlite/) for Mobile devices that allows you to program for Phones.

Blanius, I would like to ask one more question if I could. Could I put a demo into a phone myself?

blanius

has to be done in flash lite I think.

ok, I was reading what you sent about flash lite. The cost is 10 dollars and i have flash 8. Just can't find how to get it into my phone other than by selling it online thru adobe's site. You see Xpattect can easily put his program onto a laptop. We all can do that. But I don't know enough about cell phones. I do know that many support flash. I do know that some can look at web pages. I looked into this once but determined that my game playing skills were not hot enough so I abandoned the idea.

Jesus this is amazing!

Chris_Seahorn is thanking for the source code, where is it?.

I have to make a formula with 9 variables, 4 of which will be changed dynamically, 2 are constants but they change from time to time. I would appreciate if the koolmoves file (.fun) can be shared to study it, in order to implement my formula since I am novice in this field :)
Best regards

Can you give us a bit more information on what you are trying to do. Have you any screen shots of your layout aswell ?

Thank you for your kind response Xpattech,

I simplified the calculations and instead a formula we have now a table in a flat file, like a text file with the following data:

Example products.txt
CODE_NUMBER;NAME;VALUE
0001;Vitamin E;25.000,00
0002;Vitamin A;12.000,00
and so on...

Just to show name and price, no purchase procedure, just information.

For example, I will place in each product page a link to the products.swf?CODE_NUMBER=0001 with the Code Number as a parameter and the Flash file should look for this number and return the corresponding name and value to show in the calling web page of such product.

When there are changes to prices or products we just simply upload a new products.txt and the Flash file will see now new data with same format. In this case the layout is not relevant, I think, just the information.

Any example .fun file is very welcome :)

I hope I was able to explain myself, and thanks a lot for your help

Best regards
joejac
