i'm not sure if this is a flash or dreamweaver issue but hopefully someone can help me. i'm working on a website with two flash movies in it. one movie is video, the other is SUPPOSED to be text corresponding to the video. the reason i have the text in a flash movie is because i want it in a particular font. there is a nav bar at the bottom with 6 buttons. each button has two 'Load Flash Movie' behaviorslinked to it... a behavior for each movie.

ANYWAY, the video flash movie is working like a charm. but i'm having a problem with the text window. when the site first loads, the video and text window come up perfect... but when you click a button the video loads, but the text window comes up blank.

now if i must, i realize i could make 6 different pages (a page per button) and just embed the movies into each page. (i'm assuming that would work.) but i'm curious why i can't get the movie with the flash text to work.

i've even gone so far as to put video footage in both windows as a test. when i do that, both windows work fine. i'm just wondering why the swf. with the text in will not work.

thanks in advance.

ok. i have it working now. it turns out the problem wasn't with loading the movies. the problem was with my browser preview. i got the bright idea to actually put the site online to see how it would look on the web. once i posted it, it worked fine. both movies played as they were supposed to. here's the strange part. once i put a movie online, it would then play correctly on the browser preview... even though it's supposed to be running from my hard drive. can anyone explain that to me? does anyone else have a problem with differences between the browser preview and the finished product?

Are you using any server side languages like php or asp. Unless you install and run the asp service for your machine, when you do browser preview (locally on hard drive with no server technologies) it will fail to work.

no. not that i know of anyway... i just know the extension uses java. could that have something to do with it?
