how to copy button...?

hi all!

i have my background layer and my "home button" layer. button works great. what i want to do is copy all of the info that makes up my "home" button and paste it below it (the existing home button) and then just go in and edit the text to "gallery".
so then i would have a "home" button and right below it would be my "gallery" button. get it?

tried to copy/paste and edit the text but then the original home text gets edited as well...so then i have 2 gallery buttons. not what i want.
don't know if it matters but my button is a m.c. w/ scripting, etc.

so how do i do this?

I can answer a question!!!
You first select the symbol that you want to duplicate. Then you right click it and choose duplicate symbol. A prompt will come up asking you to name the new symbol. Name the symbol and this will replace the symbol on the stage with the exact same symbol, different name. You can now edit your new symbol without changing the original symbol.
