How to control flash from HTML

I am using SWFObject to embed my swf file. Depending on the page that you are on I want it to gotoAndStop to a particular frame number in the swf. I used to know how to do this but I have not done this in such a long time that I am running into old posts that do not apply.

You can use the FlashVars object. If you use the SWFObject then just add your variables with the so like so.myVar etc. I don't have example here.
