Adding spectrum (AS3) component to AS1 media player

Long time, no posting - but a new project brings me back.

I have a mp3 player component on my new recording studio site based on Chris's classic "Stream Machine." It works very well, of course, but I'd like to add a spectrum analyzer component for a little eye-candy while folks are listening to our demos.

Is it possible to drop in an simple AS3 spectrum analyzer movie that will respond to the flash players audio output without recoding the whole media component?

No - I guess that's my question - can AS3 movies respond to AS1 movies?

No, that's not possible. The AS3 spectrum component will not respond to the AS1 movie. It would be best to use an AS3 based media player.
