Johnie posted on this 1-2 months ago. I believe the answer is that there are problems with Flash 5 player.

I have created a small swf with KM and put in table at

http://www.slwebtest.fsnet.co.uk/comhome.htm

seems ok on my browser (IE). I believe I have Flash 5 player, but could be wrong.
could someone let me know if there is a problem with this swf. If not then it would seem ok to put swf in tables.

Thanks.

I asked about the table problem a few weeks back to find out if it had been fixed. Somebody posted this in response:

"Macromedia Tech notes concerning tables:

Issue
In versions of Macromedia Flash Player 5, (prior to version 5,0,41,0), a Flash movie containing an HTML formatted text field may crash Internet Explorer if the Flash movie is also embedded in a HTML table cell. This affects the following browser/platform combinations:

Internet Explorer 4/Windows 95
Internet Explorer 5/Windows 98 SE (Second Edition)

Internet Explore 5.5/Windows ME

Solution
This issue was fixed in the 5,0,41,0 release of Flash Player 5. Download and install the latest release of the Player."

So it looks like tables shouldn't be a problem anymore as long as visitors have the latest player installed.

I agree with Johnnie...

I won't work in NAV!
I create everything in IE, but test other browser to see if it's compatiable.

All my swf files work great in tables using IE!

But NAV...........

booooooooooooo!! :(

Works in IE 5.5

But only the top picture shows in NAV 6 (no swf)

Sorry

LONG LIVE IE! :)

It works with for me- I tested it with the newest version of IE 5.5 and the newest Flash Player though.

Doh! I forgot about NastyScape 6.

I just downloaded it so I can add it to my browser test list, but I can't get the darned thing to work. I think it's conflicting somehow with my NS4 (which still runs perfectly).
