publishing

ok im really really new to all this.
but basically im starting off by trying to make a family website..with photos etc.
i've made a little flash movie for the title page and added a button saying enter, so i want people to click on that then get taken to another page with buttons for each mamber of my family that people can click on and then get taken to a page for them. can i do this all in flash as one big movie with photos etc, or should i have the photos on the web and just link in the flash movie. i'm using geocities space to build it. just a tad confused about the whole general view of how it allcomes together on the web.!!!
any help would be great cheers.

You can do it all in flash, or just have your intro in flash like you do now. and have the enter button open an html page with the family listing on it. And then just build an html page for every family.
Really I think the choice would be whichever one you feel more comfortable working in.
If it were me I would go all flash and just have thunbnails of pics that when clicked on they open in a new html window.
Dont know if this is what you were hoping to hear if so hope it helps.

yeah that is what i want to do, but i dont seem to be able to link my flash movie to the html page. i have an html page with a picture on it, and in flash i did the actions and 'get URL' command and put in the URL of where my pic is. saved it and published it. but when i put the flash movie on the web and click the enter button it still does nothing? does that make any sense??

Make sure that the get url is looking at the right address for your other page, and do you have a window option selected like _self or _main. Also are both of your pages located on the same server.

If you cant figure out i will be more than glad to send you a flash file and an html file so that you can look at how i set it up. Just include your email address if you desire.
