[F8] Problem with imported gradients

hi there.

I prepared soem art in illustrator for import to flash because i wanted it to be totally vector-based.

Upon import, it is broken down into a long list of various bitmaps. I notice this occurring wherever there is a gradient.

This defeats the whole purpose of taking the time to make vector art.

Can anyone tell me a work around to help me import this and retain it all as vector?

i suggest drying a different vector format eps or pdf maybe

I tried different eps versions and even exporting as swf with no improvement :( .
