How to mute button sounds?

I have a flash4 page, with multiple buttons, which have a sound when the mouse passes over the button. The trouble is I can't seem to stop the sounds.

I would like the user to have the ability to mute/enable all sounds within the .swf, because it could get annoying in an office environment. I've tried several different ways of "Stop all sounds" but that doesn't seem to work.

I welcome any solution
