thanks. Flashkit feels like another life now, but I can't stay away from these online communities, one meets nice, and interesting, people. I wish I had more real life though :)
Anybody know where OldGeezer went? (i think that was his name)
We really need a better system for these impromptu reunions.
You mean Ask The Geezer / I ask why
He had hopes of getting into design work but it never materialized. He went from broke to dead broke to retired and broke. As he saw doors closing on him he started doing more wild life photography and I believe he picked up some money for his photographs of eagles and the like. That's all it took for him. He lost all interest in flash or the community and started to devote himself entirely to photographing eagles and other local wildlife / nature scenes. After that he pretty much put fk behind him for good.

nice pic young fella :)
Thanks David. You need to post more of your photography!
I stepped down btw.
I'm no longer super mod.
Well, UI didn't want to make a big scene. I figured those who still occasionally are regulars would come back to this thread.
You and Tom were the only people who responded abou the matter on fb. And aside from "you are no longer a mod" pm from the powers that be. No one has responded at all. I guess one doesn't get a going away party in a ghost town.
Once upon a time there were so many posts on FK each day that it was simply impossible to keep up with them all. You don't have to strain much to hear the crickets now. It's better to burn out than fade away...
Congradulations Tim
For awhile there I though no one would move up the food chain.
Thanks, it's kind of sad though... now I can help but I'm not really needed :(
I didn't want to bring it to the forefront if you had stepped down for personal reasons. What would it look like to continue a conversation that started elsewhere? Not good, imho.
And you've not been on Skype in ages. Anyway, sad to see you go. We were brought in as supermods at about the same time - in fact, you got the nod when I said no originally due to seeing myself as a rules breaker not maker - and after seeing you navigate the boards with ease and diplomacy, I thought I'd join that effort as well.
You led by example. You left a legacy. You made a lasting impression. And your departure was quite surprising.
That's my take. Hope that you hear the respect in all I've stated above. Stay in touch - I think we're following each other on Twitter. And pop in here man... you kept the CL alive when most were ignoring it. Myself inclusive.
first time in months that I come back, amazed that I still remembered my password. FK is now that reaaaaally old grandpa that can't even get up, but year after year keeps living one more year.
I can't even remember the last time I logged into twitter, but I did follow you when I was logged in.
I didn't want to be the mod who just disappeared and was demoted for inactivity. Though I have a harder time coming back each week, two weeks. I'd usually slip in without logging in, graze for topics then decide if it was woth logging in.
After passing my fourth attempt, I tried to use the forgotten pw link... then realized I don't have that email addy anymore.
Luckily the fifth time was a charm.
Good to see some of the old farts still kicking around here. :zombie:
The wife and I moved last year after a side hobby exploded into a real business and I quit my career of 14yrs.
Scary leaving the security of a good union job with full benefits, but it's been a hell of a ride, and now that we're up to 30 employees I can almost afford to spare a few minutes out of my day to relax.
I actually came by here because I was thinking of setting up a touchcreen with some custom calculators at work, and was wondering if I could make it myself in Flash.
After trying to clear some of the cobwebs from the brain, and reading through a couple threads that are way beyond me, I found myself in the CL.
I'm pretty sure that's a sign that I need to throw in the towel, and just rent a coder. :p
Whats up guys? long time no see.
Uh oh, looks like Gerbs is so bored he's resucitating sockpuppets...
Wonder if Thumbs McGee is next in rotation? :D
j/k ;)
