Ok I found a site with some actions to download for photoshop 6 ( http://www.teamphotoshop.com ). How do you install these? Do you just Dbl click them or what?

I'm using PS 5.5 I don't think there's to much difference. Open you Actions window. At the top right there's an arrow click a drop down menu appears. Select Load Actions then pic the location of the Action.
To use them hit the play button at the bottom of the action window. Or double ckick the action name and seect an F* key to use as a shortcut.
Just a side note. When creating your own actions right click the arrow select "New Set" then "New Action". The Set is basically like a folder that holds the action. It helps in organizing them. As well on eaach individual action, there are check boxes that allow you to turn off individual action with in your actions.

So do the new actions get stored in the photoshop actions folder when you add them? Or does PS just pull them from the folder they are located at?
My folder of new actions is on my desktop. Do I need to put them in a PS folder?

They can be in whatever folder you want. I think PS must store them within the prog somewhere. Cuz if you make an action and PS hasn't been closes properly then crashes the action is lost.
