I need help with a few images and removing their backgrounds for use on my Flash site. If you have any links or tutorials on filters/methods of removing backgrounds, that'll be easier to post and easier for me to learn on my own. Just looking for some advice for these photos. I currently use Fireworks 4 for all graphics and Photoshop is available if I need it. However, I have advanced skills in Fireworks and am only novice at Photoshop.

Whenever I am knocking backgrounds out I use PS, but I'm sure if there is a layer masking feature in FW then ya should be able to apply the following . . .
Duplicate the layer ya want the BG knocked out from
turn Mask mode ON (in PS it's a circle in a square)
Select your pencil tool to a round shape (I find about 30 pixels wide okay for a 300dpi image)
Set your colour: In mask mode, where ya paint BLACK it hides the area, WHITE replaces the area.
Go around the edge of the cut out ya require quite carefully, painting BLACK to remove, & if ya make a fluff use white to replace.
Once ya got ya outline, select ya paint bucket tool to knock out the rest of the background.
Flatten image & background = gone!
NOTE: ensure that when ya painting with Black that you are painting with the Mask switched on - & I find it helps to have the layer below switched off!
Happy Masking!

Thanks for the help. I usually just remove chunks out with the magic wand, then go precision with the eraser, and last feather of the edges. This methos sounds a little easier, and more mistake friendly.

Try this.
Use the path / pen tool in Photoshop.
Its the best way.
