Macromedia Flash Communication Server MX
I have just installed (trial version) of Macromedia Flash Communication Server MX, so I'll see what it can do for Chat, external databases, etc.
I'll get back soon if this works or not..
Remember any comments , sugestions, would be of great help.
Another quantum leap - forwards this time....
I take it that my command line interpreter wasn't too popular?
Ok, I've been busy on this, a good distraction activity to take me away from things that make me money.
I've created what I call 'core o/s'. I was pleased with what I did so I put it on my home page:-
http://www.i2genius.com
It now has the fundermentals of a graphical operating system. It's not perfect yet - one thing that irritates me is that directory windows take so long to refresh. This is because every icon is loadMovie()'d in to allow for flexability and custom icons for applications etc. I assumed that once one had loaded, it would be cached and subsequent ones would load instantly - but I assumed wrong. I'll fix that soon.
The one thing that I like most about it is that it has spring loaded folders! which used to be a feature of older macOS versions.
Of course, what we need is applications. Anyone? Even BeOS had rotating cubes and bad music going on simultaneously.
I will give away a window template soon - just got a couple more things to do with it - cater for custom cursors etc, folders dragged to apps etc. I'll also write a guide to all the O/S calls you may need.
By the way, I included the CLI for those that liked it.
