fonts, fonts, fonts
Hi Flick
I like the Bitmaps Fonts...i have tried some, but i didn't worked out well..the readability was about 30%. Is there something special about using Bitmaps fonts?
Right Now i am using the "Forgotten Futurist" Font which i think is quite nice..but still if you write little letters you can't read it properly.
Thanks for your help

There are definite rules you must follow for using bitmap (pixel) fonts - check out the guide that is at www.fontsforflash.com or the one under Tips at http://frets-files.com/html/ - both Flash MX 2004 and SwishMax can produce highly readable text by "converting" many standard fonts to pixel fonts. I have only used the Flash method once, but use teh SwishMax one all of the time and both can produce some very nice small text - Arial at 11 points is much clearer than when it is antialiased.
Cheers,
Flick

Is this it?
If so then it comes under the category of "sans serif"(verdana, arial) which does display badly at a low size. if you want to see some basic rules Click here

After you follow all the rules
sometimes things slip through.
Such as scaling a font.
some fonts won't look sharp no matter what
you do if they don't fall either
A below a point size (non pixel fonts
B Are not the exact pt size for the pixel font.
Swishmax really shines at converting standard fonts
to pixel fonts either smooth or sharp. Used in conjunction
with auto kerning you can return very well defined fonts
from serif and sans serif you'd never imagined.
Veranda is a tough font to pixelate do to the roundness
of the letters and the width of them.
Still swish perforums admirably as it does with
serif fonts such as Georgia
However choosing veranda as a embedded font is
foolish when you can use a device font.
Also some fonts really shouldn't be smaller then 12pt regardless
of the method as they look too ridiculously small to read
