I had this same problem. I was unable to do it directly. Had to do it in external program and import it.
hm... i would try to use masking...
There is no direct way at the moment. Try starting with a zero and edit points.
If you create the shape in a graphics application, and make the hole transparrent, then save as png, you can then import it into km. This would give the appearance of a hole.
this is not true i have done it let me see if i can find it
here we go http://www.apgovshs.com/myAngel.html then fun file is http://www.apgovshs.com/myAngel.fun
edit: srry I guess I should tell you that the halo is the hole lol
with respect I suggest you look here. http://www.allabouthere.co.uk/doh.htmlQuote:

The combination of flash 8 export and actionscript makes it possible to use an alpha mask. That way you can make part of movieclips transparent.
It also can be done with the flash 8 alpha / layer blendmodes.
Drew and Stoke I don't think thats what the person meant. Yes you can make a "Line only" shape but I think What they wanted was like on my site where I have a Frame that is a sort of container for the content. I created the shape in another program and imported it.
Also I did one in InkScape which is a SVG editor and imported that and it turns out that it's a bit of a cheat to get the hole in it. I've attached an example SVG and now that the SVG in Koolmoves works better using Inkscape is a great option for creating these kinds of shapes and bringing them in as vector objects
stoke srry didnt mean saying it wouldnt work but it can be done in just koolmoves you dont need to import form a different program.Quote:

you could always make a circle and make the fill transperant and set the line to the largest it can go to.
Drew I see your example but isn't that just a shape with no fill? While that is useful it is NOT truly a shape with a hole in it. Another example is like in the Poker game I'm working on I wanted a large text object with suits cut out of it (see what I'm talking about here http://bretlanius.com/flash/videopoker.html). This is all but impossible to do within KM alone.
As for what Wilbert suggests I don't know if that will work with text boxes this is why I wasn't able to use masks in my website because masks and textboxes don't play well together.
Nice Poker game blanius i think iv created a circle with a hole in before. But i forgot =(
couldnt you just make 1 in microsoft word or paint and convert it to a transparent gif and import it in iv done that before its easy =) thats 1 way.
Sure you could but if the software supports it. Not many programs I've tried do. I use 2 vector programs one is RealDraw from Mediachance. It's great but the SVG export doesn't always work will KM and I mostly export as PNG then import that. But Inkscape's SVG often will import shapes but not gradients and overly complex SVGs and the advantage of this is Vector shapes take WAY less memory than importing a bitmap (png, jpeg) graphic.
Ho ho ho merry christmas in 7 days =)
o yea heres a donut i make using vectors in KM its just a "o" converted into a shape with points.
Here's a good example of what I mean, Since the large shape with holes was a SVG import the whole movie is 3k
