Using URL encoding, displaying the special characters works fine.

But i cant figure out what the problem is in displaying the '<' symbol. All other symbols are displayed fine including the '>'...

You want the swf file to open directly?? ... i dont think thats possible. You will have to embed the swf in an html file and then give a link to that html file.

I have heard that Swift 3D is good... but not really tried it out.

even i am trying out the same thing and i tried using:

but there are few characters that still dont appear in flash :(

You must have given allowscale as "false". if you don't want the white borders let allowscale be true.
