I used the method I thought of and made the first frame an empty frame that tells it to start randomly picking frames and put in an if statement that if the current frame is frame one to pick another...

I have moved this thread to the ActionScript help section here http://www.flashkit.com/board/showthread.php?threadid=557990&referrerid=385596 if anyone can offer any more help or others want to see...

Anyone have a chance to look into this?
-
I think I figured out how to accomplish that. I just dropped it in the autoplay function and not the functions for the prev and next buttons. Now the big questions.... is there a way to arrange this...
-
Exactly where should I put that in the code? Is there a way that I can have the autoplay do the random play, but the forward and back buttons to continue to go frame by frame down the timeline. I...
-
Is it possible to have flash randomly play frames of the timeline? I'm guessing it would have to be a script in every frame so once it plays that frame it jumps to another random frame? I've got a...

Ok, I figured out how to get it to autoplay, just initialized the autoplayStatus = 1 from 0...doh! how obvious and under my nose the whole time!
Now, one last thing... can anyone help me figure...

Since no one has offered any help with this, does anyone else have other ideas on how I can accomplish the same goal? I want a random picture to load and then randomly cycle through, but I also want...

Has anyone got any ideas on this? I've simplified the built in slide show. Now I want it to start playing on load and to play randomly. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

I have no idea on the scripting either, I'm terrible with scripting. But this looks really good, very nice and impressive motion.

Maybe post your fla and txt files?

look into loadMovie() that's typically what I use

If I understand your question correctly:
In your button over frame move the picture the same distance away on the workspace as you want it to be on the main movie. I.e. if the picture needs to be...

I tried declaring the autoplay(); in the first frame of the movie, but that just made it start cycling (with no pause) non-stop until a button was pushed. Anyone out there have any thoughts? Also...

I've modified the FlashMX 2004 built-in slide show template as a simple banner rotation. Does anyone have any ideas on how I can get it to start autoplaying from the start rather than waiting on the...

Geez, if I would have seen this post a month ago I could have gotten those files for you. I just left CNN as a webmaster and used to build those all the time, of course it wasn't anything I thought...

Hey, that's great! Would you mind sharing your source on that or take a look at mine to see what I'm doing wrong? http://www.flashkit.com/board/showthread.php?threadid=498630

Ah, I don't have 2004, just MX. I can't afford to go out and get the new one everytime :)
-
Not sure I understand your question. You said the scroller is unimportant to you? So does that mean you just want the buttons? If so then just delete all the dragger components and the buttons work...

Here's the .fla of what I have so far zip file

I looked at your file and I think it can be done MUCH simpler than this with MX. I have a good bit done on my file already, it's just not totally working properly. So I would say I have some idea...

Kac,
I'm trying to do something similar, I've made a post http://www.flashkit.com/board/showthread.php?threadid=498630 that contains my file. Would you mind taking a look at my file? Should be...

Did you ever receive any help or figure it out? I've posted a similar request with what I have so far. The buttons are working, but not the dragger.
-
I've created my own scroll for my dyanmic text field but can't seem to get the dragger widget working correctly. The up and down arrows do, but I've hit a wall with the dragger script. Can...

:) Thanks! I knew it had to be something simple (nothing complex about this swish!). Works great, appreciate it.
I looked at that tutorial before, but I don't know if it's the way it's explained...
