nope, doesn't seem to show any signs of intelligence at all :P

movie begins to play immediately with the mediaPlayback component regardless of the amount buffered...

even if i'm not using the netStream component? am literally just using the mx2004 mediaplayback component. There just doesn't seem to be anywhere to set the buffer time before begining playing???

I am trying to create a smooth animated transition whilst using a background jpg. This is achieved superbly on hybrides site where the content boxes are animated AND slightly alpha'd.
