What about the Alpha? You should be able to adjust the alpha of the MC.

If it's just the opacity or transparency you want to change you could always make a MovieClip using the text as the content of the MC and use a Motion Tween instead of a Shape Tween. That would...

Are you using QuickTime 6?
QuickTime 6 includes full support for Flash 5 actionscripting.
I'm not sure if QT 6 supports MX. If you use Flash 5
scripting only in MX you should be fine.

Just a quick note about dot syntax.

you will need to add an underscore to the start. e.g.

on (release) {
_level2.mcName.gotoAndPlay("start")
}

I assume you are using a PC.

Place the SwFlash.ocx file into the MM folder in your system folder.

C:/ WINDOWS / SYSTEM / MACROMEDIA

If you are using XP:

C:/ WINDOWS / SYSTEM32 /...

This method only detects if the browser has the Flash plug-in (V.4 & higher).
It does not detect for V.6
