Attached is a really old example I did of reversing a sprite. Click on play to go forward and reverse to reverse.
Hope it helps,

You could do this in SwishMax by breaking your image into square pieces then ungrouping and applying an effect to each piece. I would bet though that this was done using Pixifex - www.goldshell.com....

I agree with Frets about the SwishMax book - if you want a hardcopy resource I would go for Colin Moock's ActionScript for Flash MX.

Congratulations Mike - well deserved, although I was a little concerned when I read your new title as super model.

There are several popup generators on the web - here is one.

On the main timeline - right click, select movie control and go to and play frame 1 (my error - frame 0 hasn't been around since Swish 2).

It would be nice to see your swi file. Have you changed the size/shape of the sprite icon? That can also distort anything that is put into the sprite.

Attached is one approach - you will need the latest beta of SwishMax to view it.

Select all of your images and group as a group. Select the group and apply the effect. Open the effect dialog box (double-click on teh effect from the timeline) and check the author box. Then...

Sure - put you image in a masked sprite and lay a gradient filled shape over the image - see if the attached helps.

If you look at the content panel. All of those images, although not used, still count against the file size - delete them and you are down to 2K.

Paul,
It has to do with the way your original rectangle is set up.
Here is the transform panel for the shape in your file:

That should work - I must have been hallucinating when I made my previous post, which I will now delete.

Paul,
Here is an example with the swapdepths working correctly. It would not be too hard to adapt this to your case of four images. The first thing would be to put the anchor point in each image...
-
Paul, here is a quickie that does I think you want except that I didn't have time to deal with swapping depths. I'll try that tomorrow if this is in the right direction.

Does the attached help?

The anchor point is set through the transform panel.

If you click on a frame for any object a move will be created from the frame where...

Paul,
Make sure that the anchor point of the line is set to the point you want to remain fixed.
Attached are two examples, one using a move command and the other using script.

Sue,
The behavior that I see in SwishMax is similar to what you originally reported, but on export or test in player or browser all is as it should be.
Following what Frets said, I would import...

Andy,
I remember this from your initial attempts. Looks very good.

Jrexi,
My use of this has always been to open the Excel file in a separate window, which is running Excel. I suspect that you could pass variables back and forth but have never thought the...

Think nothing of it - I am easily confused.

Pat,
I am still a little confused. If the spreadsheet is not going to calculate anything, then what interactivity are you looking for? If you want to be able to update the spreadsheet from...
-
Pat,
Do you mean insert Excel sheets into SwishMax, or create a spreadsheet within SwishMax. If it is the latter what mathematical capabilities would the spreadsheet need?
