Sorry to post this here... I don't really know where else to go!!
I'm involved in a project that requires the use of Access and can't work out how to do the following shorthand:

Thank you all so very much!
After hours of thinking it was an encryption problem, I followed your good advice and changed the ownership of the files.
I now have everything recovered!
Thank...

Perhaps I should explain the situation a bit better.
I kept the "My Documents" folder on a separate partition that was used just for my work files. Now, despite the fact that nothing has changed...

Thanks.
I'll try that. But why should that work?

I have just formatted and reinstalled Windows on my PC and have come across a major problem: I can't access my files.
The "My Documents" folder appears to be encrypted and every time i try to...

Thanks for all the help guys. I'll look into all those packages. Cubase seems to be the sort of thing that I want - I just don't know how to use it!
You're right about that steep learning curve -...

Anyone got advice on where to start if I want to use my PC to write music? I've never tried it before, but I'd like to put some of my own tracks onto websites.
I've downloaded a demo copy of...

Thanks, I've just downloaded a copy of Flash MX to try that.

I really urgently need some help...
I have flash 5 and am doing a product demonstration for my company on Friday. As part of the demonstration I would like to show a movie as if it is on a TV...

I don't really understand what you want - could you be a bit more specific?

Try the MovieClip.swapDepths Action, where MovieClip is the name of your movie.
Good Luck,

Will it work if I put the fla in the same location as the web site? Something like
http://www.dur.ac.uk/society.theatre/STC.fla
If so I'll post it ASAP.
Thanks again,

Rather than give you a lengthy explanation I am going to point you to a very useful article that should solve your problems.
Go to Help in Flash, then 'using generator', then 'Data source' then...

Yes. There are loads of ways that you could do this. The easiest is probably to save each pic as a separate movie clip (with button properties).
In the button itself you could make the 'hit'...

ActionScript is Flash's own progrtamming language. You can add in to objects and frames so that an action occurs when you want it to.

It would be quite easy if you label your movie clips in a logical fashion - e.g. MC1, MC2, MC3...
Then you could refer to them by adding a random number to "MC". Sya you generate a random number...

I'm not sure how you've made your plane and how you handle the movement, but I would have created the plane in a movie clip and then moved that clip on the main stage using a tween similar to that in...

Use getUrl - its listed under the basic actions. Alternatively just use the following code:
getUrl ("YourPage.html", "blank");
Good Luck,

Thanks very much for your help. The following is the ActionScrpit in my Preloading Scene:
Frame 1:
Percent = Math.ceil(100*(_root.getBytesLoaded)/_root.getBytesTotal()));
Percent = Percent+"%";...

Try loading your movies into empty MC symbols rather than different levels. It makes it easier to refer to the right thing. Playing with levels is unnecesarily complicated
-
Loading MCs into different levels is just the same as having them as symbols in different layers. level 0 is just the parent movie.
Unload movie is just removes any movie from the stage.
A neat...

Not absolutely certain that it will work but you could try to select all the frames that you want in your new MC, right click, cut frames. If you create a new symbol and just paste they should all be...

Have you looked at the Flash Kit ones? At the top of the screen there are links to Sound loops and FX.

If you keep the Text as text rather than as an image there should be no real loss of quality. In the worst case, make your text big to start off and then scale it down at the start (ie to 20%).

I've looked over all of my ActionScript and I can't find a rogue GotoAndPlay anywhere! What makes matters worse is that everything works when I do a 'test movie'.
Any more ideas?
