yes you can control a flash movie from html using javascript .if you are using dreamweaver there are some built-in scripting behaviours for this purpose .
also ther are some technotes on the mm site...

i wonder if some one could tell me how to tell a movie to go to a particular frame (name or number) using a URL path.
(ie. http://www.somewhere.com/somemovie.swf:framelabel or something like that)...

yes i use netscape because im a web designer and there are still a few people who use it who must be catered for

netscape is a poorly made browser and cannot correctly display flash movies at a percentage size when they are placed within a table -it seems to display them at pixel size
thus 100% displays as 100...
