I have read that random function is deprecated in flash5 and they recommend the new math.random() function... but:

In flash4:

random(5) --- this returns a value of 0, 1, 2, 3, or...

There are some good games made with flash, I think that the problem are the bad flash developer... not flash... have you seen the games of Subway...? or the sheep game...

Something like sendSprite or sendallSprites in Director?... I´m looking for the same thing...
