I did try wine, but it went VERY slowly.
It is unfortunate that it cannot be ported, but so be it.
Kind Regards,

Hey everyone!
I bought 3dfa before version 4 came out, and *almost* lost hope that it was still alive.
And NOW ITS BACK: YAY!
Only, is it possible that it could be ported to linux, as was...
-
I am well versed and experienced in both. Please count me in.

After seeing 3DFA falter, I have been looking forward to the day when it would rise again.
It seems it comes in the form of Glops work.
Is this project Open Source? If so, I would be interested...
-
Another possible solution is to fork 3DFA, much like RedHat and Fedora, and have one "paid" product, and one free and open source product. In this way 3dFA will have code pouring in from their Open...
-
Although I agree with the ideas behind the $20 a yer/major upgrade, one of the major versions I chose 3dFA was because it was cheap and user friendly, and of course, because I would have access to...

Thanks for the statistics!
But I must say, this is not looking good... From what we have brought up between us:
- Rob must not be present in this project, temporarily at least
- A version has...

Glops: I'm behind you all the way... If we get that started up, then linux versions can be easily created. Apart from that, anyone can contribute.
ForumNewbie: I agree with you too... I also...

I wish very hard...
... but nothing is happening...
I think it is, as you say, deader than dead.

I have previously called a similar poll, but I believe it is time to do it again. Now that a new version has not been released, and that they are no longer answering any emails.
So, the question...

kenlynch--
I can see where you are coming from, but I personally have never had those problems.
I guess the reason you were shouted down was because it would take much work to make Linux much...

Ok... Linux doesn't have the support of many major companies, but that IS changing, however slowly.
Granted: Linux requires a more in depth knowledge of computers to use it to its...

Let's just assume hypothetically that Linux does have over 18 million, or close to. That is no small number, especially as it is constantly growing. 18 million is enough to warrant...

While linux may be in the minority as far as users go, it still has over 18 million users, according to http://counter.li.org. This is constantly rising as linux becomes more and more refined. Fedora...

How? All the 3D functions I have seen are terribly difficult to master. I have no idea where to start, and can only make 2D planes.
Where are your sample files? Can you post a URL?

I am fairly certain that Macromedia Flash supports it, though not entirely. This costs a lot though!
A few of the others might, but they are generally expensive.
According to the 3DFA website,...

If anyone knows if there's something like this for Linux, please tell me!
-
I don't know if this is 3DFA related or Flash related, but here goes.
In Linux HTML fields are NOT displayed, and anytext on the buttons is hidden, as well as any transparency is forgotten.
...

If you wanted to, you could use a button. The mouseover can display a text box with a different font colour. You could then link the text boxes to the same variable.
Perhaps I am a longway...

What exactly do you mean by lost sections?
If some layers can't be viewed, or such, can't you flatten it?
Or is the movie in layers?
I don't know that much, but I will help if I can.

This is very unfair. Linux is a very wide spread Operating System, and becoming even more so, as it is free, and can be modified by anyone once downloaded or bought.

I may be as FlashPulse said, that the redevelopment of the 3D component is holding the release schedule up.
I do hope though that Linux is supported when they do bring out the next version. If...

For a long while, this project has not been evidently moving forward. I am wondering if there will be any new releases, particularly for Linux.
If anyone knows about the development, please tell...

The support page on www.3dfa.com says that a Linux version is likely for production this year, but I have heard nothing about it.
:grouphug:If anyone has any details or leads, please help. I use...
