I got it to work! I used an external batch file to open the document at first (thanks for that tip cfreiling - who sent me an email) but I guess sxdesigns way would be even more...

can anybody tell me how I can get a flash executable (resided on cd-rom) to link to a word-document, which opens in MSword?

the MC placeholder is not level1, it still inside the main movie (you can address to your .swf now the same way you would a movieclip)

the summertime setting in windows is actually really sneaky, it gets the system clock and just adds an hour.. flash however doesn't get windows' time, but the system clock.....
