    Animation Master....

    I've heard Hash Animation Master isn't bad - although a bit over $200.

    Depends what you want out of the programme too. Some are great for modelling, but crappy for animation, and vice-versa.

    Y'all forgot Softimage XSI, which is sort of mid price between Max and Maya (though more towards the Maya end of things), and, with Mental Ray, has by far the best renderer.
