So any ideas on why it pulls in larger than the original swf?

please someone help,im hitting myself in the head. the holder clip is empty before the movie is loaded, thus it has no width and height. So why is the loaded swf being brought in taller and wider...

no you cant have a gradiant as a mask. You can make a gradiant with an alpha make it appear as if your using a gradiant as a mask
