You gotta watch out, higher alcohol content doesn't necessarily mean better beer. There’s a certain limit it can get up to (around 7% I think) before it starts tasting more like some kind of bastardised wine than beer.

Around 5-6% is ideal from my many samplings of beers around the world.

And IMO Germany and the Czech Republic make the best beer by far... I found that any of the half decent beers in the States (which were almost always the local stuff or the microbrewers) could trace their origins to German immigrants or similar...
