sadly the contest is no more,some of the sponsors rejected to send their parts for the toolset to the finalists,so the contest rules got changed and the original plan (all finalists should create a prototype of their game within two months once all had all toolkit parts together) was cancelled.the finalists got asked to create a demo of their game within 30 days,without any of the tools.
That basically lead to this: the big boys (who already had those tools) were able to deliver their entry in the given time (especially as they worked on the actual game for quite a while the others were waiting for toolkit parts),the others not.
I was quite pissed about that of course but i´m not angry at all on the main sponsors like discreet (who did their best till the end to get the toolkits together and also sent their parts of it and were generally helpful and friendly all the way down),i´m a bit angry on those who didn´t send the stuff they said they would (won´t tell the names of the bad ones due to legal actions approaching,big names don´t like bad news ),besides that they said again and again they would send the stuff soon...
Anyway,we´ll develop our game on either way (and already did as you can see ) and discreet liked our stuff so much that it will get a spotlight case study soon,so its not all bad =)
