    My settings are :
    Version- Flash Player 7
    ActionScript version - ActionScript2
    (the highest options in FlashMX04)
    getURL worked fine when my browser plugin was flashplayer7.

    getURL() should still work for regular web site URLs. What are you calling or doing exactly with getURL()?
