cant get site to work on line

Is there a certain format I have to follow to put my site on the web. i regestered with geocities so I could preview my site but every time I load the page nothing happens. I tried
Publishing in Dreamweaver also and still nothing.

make sure that everything you upload is in binair and not ascii, because if you upload you graphics, flash etc in ascii you will only get an empty screen or a broken image. I hope that I helped you enough.
