wierd prob! window changes when clicked....

hi
i donot know how to solve this
i have a button which when clicked opens a new window to a specified target
when i click this , it does open a new window but the current window changes and shows a one line
[object //something like this (i dont rem)]
why does this happen
the code i use is
window.open();
ps:is there a way out where i can specify the height and width of the new opened window
any help will b appreciated
